Provides air cargo shipper personnel involved in the handling, storage, and stowage of cargo, mail, or supplies with the necessary knowledge on Dangerous Goods labelling and handling.
At the end of the DGR training, participants will have the necessary knowledge to identify and classify dangerous goods, recognize and identify dangerous goods labels and package specification markings, take into account the provisions for dangerous goods in passenger and crew baggage, and become familiar with dangerous goods emergency response procedures; this training has been developed following a competency-based training and assessment approach in accordance with Chapter 7 of the IATA DGR Manual.
Recognize the applicability of dangerous goods, understand general limitations, identify functions and responsibilities, understand the importance of classification and packaging, understand hazard communication, become familiar with basic emergency response, plan the load, issue the NOTOC, inform the pilot-in-command and the flight operations officer/flight dispatcher, report dangerous goods accidents, report dangerous goods incidents, report undeclared or misdeclared dangerous goods, and report occurrences involving dangerous goods.
