DGR09 – Passenger Handling Personnel – 7.5

Personnel responsible for accepting passenger and crew baggage, managing aircraft loading areas, and performing other functions involving direct contact with passengers at an airport.

At the end of the DGR training, participants will have the necessary knowledge to identify and classify dangerous goods, recognize and identify dangerous goods labels and package specification markings, take into account the provisions for dangerous goods in passenger and crew baggage, and become familiar with dangerous goods emergency response procedures. This training has been developed following a competency-based training and assessment approach in accordance with Chapter 7 of the IATA DGR Manual.

At the end of the course, a final assessment or multiple-choice test is conducted. The student must achieve a minimum score of 80% to pass. The student has two opportunities to successfully complete the assessment.

Upon passing the assessment, a Certificate will be issued by e-mail. The Certificate is valid for 24 months.

Recognize the applicability of dangerous goods, understand general limitations, identify functions and responsibilities, identify general information relating to classes and divisions, understand hazard communication, become familiar with basic emergency response, process baggage, accept baggage, report dangerous goods accidents, report dangerous goods incidents, report undeclared or misdeclared dangerous goods, and report dangerous goods occurrences.
